Ikuo Nakamura Photo exhibition / 中村征夫写真展

Ikuo Nakamura is one of famous camera man in Japan. He is well known especially about marine and underwater photography. His home town is Akita, here. This time, he has an exhibition in Sake storehouse in Kodama sake company. There is a huge space and I saw many pictures of beautiful fish and coral in Great Barrier Reef. I felt I was in the water and see many fishes. I was lucky I could listen his talk about his work, trip and environment issue. We have to keep these beautiful sea and creature for our future.

水中写真家の中村征夫さんは秋田の潟上市（かたがみし）出身です。今回は飯田川町の小玉醸造（お酒の「太平山」を造ってます）にできた大きなギャラリーでの開催です。たくさんの魚や珊瑚達の写真の中にいると自分も海の中にいるような感覚に陥りました。ご本人のトークも聞くとこができてラッキーでした。環境について深く考えさせられました。まずは自分でできることから無理をせず環境によいことを続けて行く。例えば食器を洗う時にはまず汚れをウエスで拭いて、汚水を最小限にするなど。地球をみんなの力で守って行きたいものです。

Custom made Re-formed Clutch purse from Dress/ ワンピースから作ったクラッチバッグ

This is a custom made clutch purse which my customer requested me to make from her old dress which she ware in childhood. There are many laces and the material is very difficult to treat. I tried keeping the cute image of the dress. There are three laces layers and many little flowers on it. From making pattern, it took many hours but finally I have done it. My customer was happy with this clutch when I show the pictures. It is good way to recycle your memorable things into another new thing. Great idea, isn't it ? 

このクラッチバッグですが、だたのクラッチバッグではありません。実はお客様が子供の頃に着られていたワンピースをバッグにして欲しいとの依頼で、どんな生地なのかわからず、とりあえずOKして受けてしまったものですが、思った以上に難しい素材でたいへん悩み、苦労しました。が、出来上がってみると、なかなかかわいい。３層のレースにつまみ細工で作った小花を散らしました。どうでしょう？　思い出の一品をリホームして違う形で再利用。エコですね。

Long Leather Wallet / 革長財布

I have just made this long leather wallet for my brother-in-low. He ordered it long time ago but I am sorry I was very busy with other orders for my customers. Finally, I started making his wallet and and made a little by little. It took 5 weeks. This was sewn by both hand and sewing machine. It was very difficult to sew because of the thickness. I broke 3 leather needles actually...

I want to keep it for myself ...

前々から義理の兄に頼まれていたレザーウォレット。他のお客様の注文が優先され、なかなか先に進まず、今日やっと完成。週に１回少しずつやって５週間くらいかかったかな。ミシンと手縫い両方で、札入れ小銭入れのところが厚くなってしまったので、そこは慎重に手縫いで。４本編みのウォレットチェーンもついて完璧！うー、自分でキープしておきたい！！

Araya VS Tsuchizaki Tug-Of-War / 新屋VS土崎 綱引き大会

This is a quite new event Tug of war competition, Araya vs Tsuchizaki in Akita. It was held in art college in Araya today on 4th Oct. Araya and Tsuchizaki people have been dislike each other for long time but now we have this big event to have friendly relationship each other. 

Tsuchizaki has a big own historical parade float festival and they show the 'Hikiyama' big float with Samurai dolls. It was great,  powerful and exciting to watch. 

Also there are many food stalls, BBQs, Hot pots, noodles, Ice creams, sweets, drinks etc... 

One thing I really wanted eat was 'Oga Yakisoba' sea food flied noodle. It was very delicious !

And Ice cream, we call 'Babahera ice cream' which means aunt's spoon ice cream. Usually yellow and pink colour.

This year, Tsuchizaki was won ! (I am Araya side. Very sad but I enjoyed whole festival  !!)

今日は晴れたり曇ったり時々雨のあいにくの天気でしたが、第２回となる土崎対新屋の綱引き大会が新屋の美短で行われました。昔から因縁の仲といわれてきた２つの地域ですが、これからの地域の発展と友好を目的とし開催されたイベントです。土崎は曳山を、新屋は竿燈を披露しました。曳山は今回初めてみましたが、たいへん迫力があり感動しました。

秋田の「男鹿やきそば」も海産物のダシが効いてておいしかったです！午後には売り切れるほど好評でした。そして、子供にも人気の「ババヘラアイス」おばさんがヘラで盛ってくれるアイス。これも秋田名物ですかね。

今年は土崎が勝ちました。勝ち負けは別として、イベントが大成功に終わりよかったです！

Autumn is coming Now/来秋

Cosmos is in full bloom now here. It is called Cosmos road along the small river. The Kanji of cosmos, we write 秋桜 Autumn cherry blossom. There are beautiful light pink and deep pink flowers and many people enjoy walking and jogging. 

Also it is Full moon today and we do 月見 'Tsukimi' seeing moon. We usually display Pampas grass and some Japanese sweet, such as Dango or Manjyu for the moon.

秋田の八橋の草生津川ではコスモスが満開で見頃です。今週末はイベントなども行われているようです。初めてこの辺りを散策しましたが、お散歩やジョギングにはよいところでした。

そして今日は中秋の名月。きれいなまん丸のお月様が輝いています。いただいた兎のかわいいおまんじゅう、ブログで紹介したかったのですが、お腹に収まってしまいました。ごめんなさい。

Vintage Woven Silk Kimono Coin Purse /アンティーク帯のがま口

This is a coin purse which was made out of Japanese Vintage woven silk Kimono belt with gold threads. Very rare one and great quality obi belt, about 100 years old in Taisho era. This is actually order from my customer for gift and he asked me put embroidered name on it. I have a computer sewing machine with embroidery.  But I tried just a few times for my friend's gift. It is a great idea to put a name or short message on items for gift. I show the purse on the picture as an example (Name was a little changed.) 

大正時代の正絹の丸帯で作ったがま口です。お客様からの注文の品ですが、帯自体がたいへん珍しくなかなか手に入らない一品なので紹介します。シックな焦茶に金糸で２種類の鶴が織られています。大事に使いたいので、注文があった時にだけ作るようにしています。以前には二つ折りの財布や革と合わせてショルダーバッグを作りました。

今回は刺繍で名前を入れて欲しいとのことだったので、裏地は無地の正絹の黒に金色っぽい糸でアルファベットで入れました（ミシンの刺繍です）。プレゼントにお名前やメッセージを入れるとたいへん喜ばれると思います。（写真にサンプルを載せましたが、名前は少し変更してあります。）

Market in Jazz festival / マーケットin ジャズフェスティバル

Jazz festival was held in Nakakoji in Akita today. And I joined as one of craft store of the market. It was very nice day, like summer. Many people come and enjoy music and shopping there. I also enjoyed the atmosphere with the nice sound of Jazz music.

今日は秋田市でジャズフェスティバルがありました。タゴデザインも初出店で、多くのお客様と触れ合うことができ、たいへん楽しかったです。お天気も良く、日差しが強く暑いくらいでした。なんといっても、生演奏のジャズを聞きながらというのがいいですね。とっても充実した１日でした。次回の出店は１２月６日に秋田市のアルベで 行われる手づくりデパートに出店の予定です。またのお越しをお待ちしております。
